Trebbi are delighted to announce that this year we have chosen two amazing charities to support: Candlelighters and The Lily Foundation.
Candlelighters is a charity that brings light to families affected by childhood cancer. They provide emotional, practical, and financial support to families, while also investing in vital research to improve the outcomes and lives of children with cancer.
The Lily Foundation focuses on improving the lives of people affected by mitochondrial diseases. Mitochondrial disease, or 'mito' is the term given to a group of genetic medical disorders caused by mutations in mitochondria, so when they fail the consequences can be serious and wide-ranging. Their ultimate goal is to work towards a future where these diseases can be effectively treated and even cured.
Both charities were nominated by staff and were selected after careful consideration. This year, we've decided to split our fundraising efforts across the Trebbi office locations with our Sheffield and Manchester offices fundraising for Candlelighters, and our London and Leeds offices fundraising for The Lily Foundation.
To kick off our efforts, Trebbi's Managing Director Craig Hibbert is donating £2,000 towards our fundraising efforts, which will be split between both charities, with the aim of growing that into as large as a sum as possible by the end of the year. This is a similar concept to The Master Cutler's Challenge, which typically starts with each participating team being given a fund of £50 which serves as a starting point for participants to kickstart their fundraising efforts and generate additional donations for charitable causes. Participants are encouraged to be creative and resourceful in how they use the initial fund to raise more money; they organise fundraising events, challenges, and activities to attract donations. The goal is to leverage the initial fund to generate as much money as possible for charity.
We can't wait to get started and make a meaningful difference to those in need.
