Redevelopment at Former Yorkshire Post Site Secures Planning Permission
3rd March 2023
Planning consent has been secured to develop the site of the former Yorkshire Evening Post headquarters on Wellington Street in Leeds.
The site has been derelict since 2014 and the proposals to revive the site include three residential towers, a mix of student and build to rent flats.
The first block is a 42-storey purpose-built student accommodation tower comprising 1,125 student beds, as well as 18,500 ft² of ancillary facilities. The second building, standing at 32 storeys, will offer 638 student beds, a range of spa, health and well-being facilities along with 21,500 ft² of ancillary space.
The third building of 25 storeys, will provide approximately 348 one, two and three-bedroom apartments with landscaped residents podium terrace taking advantage of south facing riverside views.
Roscoe are the structural engineers for this exciting project, with a team that includes Urbanite and DLA Architects. We are looking forward to seeing the scheme progress and the transformation of this important, landmark site in the west end of the city.
