In the financial year ending 28th February 2019, Monaghans completed 24 extension projects to existing Premier Inn hotels, opening 615 new bedrooms. Work has also included the refurbishment of receptions and restaurants to accommodate extra visitors and provide an updated, modern interior. Roscoe, another company within the Trebbi family, have also been involved in several of the projects, with the provision of specialist civil and structural engineering services.
Monaghans' services were honoured at Whitbread’s Premier Inn & Restaurants Supplier Conference in September 2018, where they were named as Whitbread’s ‘Construction Supplier of the Year’. A fantastic achievement following their appointment in 2015.
Amongst the varied projects completed this financial year, Premier Inn Glasgow Pacific Quay saw the opening of a ground floor Costa Coffee, as well as a 49-bedroom extension.
In Inverness alone, Monaghans completed 3 expansion projects, increasing the hotels’ capacity by 56 rooms. A further 68-bedrooms will be added within the city in the next year, further satisfying the strong demand from consumers staying in Inverness on business and leisure trips.
Premier Inn Doncaster Lakeside was the biggest project of the year, with a 55-bedroom stand-alone annex building doubling the hotel in size. The striking design of the extension and its prominent location addressed the local authority requirement to create a landmark building.
Meanwhile, an innovative project at Premier Inn Lincoln saw 3 unused retail units redeveloped to 2 floors of rooms. The extension involving 24 new bedrooms, makes the centrally located hotel extremely convenient for both business and leisure travellers.
A huge thank you and well done to Monaghans’ and Roscoe’s dedicated teams for continually delivering for the Premier Inn brand. Here’s to another great year ahead!
