Hoyland Regeneration

Hoyland Regeneration

White Design has submitted detailed plans for the redevelopment of Hoyland Town Centre.

The proposals include building a new supermarket with car parking, relocation of Hoyland Market, and refurbishment of the Town Hall offices to include apartments and retail space.

The scheme, submitted by White Design, is split into the sections being Site A, Site B and Site C (pictured).

Site A covers 26,500 sq ft and currently comprises a disused NHS Health centre which is earmarked to be demolished to make way for a 79 space car park.

Site B is 55,700 sq ft in size and is the location of the present Hoyland Market, which is set to be demolished to make space for a food retail supermarket accompanied by a 78-space car park.

Site C covers 52,700 sq ft and is home to Hoyland Town Hall and an adjoining Co-op store. The Town Hall building, which enjoys a “prominent position” in the town, will be redeveloped to include apartments on the first and second floors, while three retail units will be built to the south. One of these will be occupied by Boyes.

The new Hoyland Market will have 30 stalls and be situated next to the Town Hall, opposite the retail units.

The scheme when completed will deliver a re-invigorated town centre with significant increased prospects for local employment and business.
